Sridharananda Swamiji of Savita Samaj takes Dharmadhikari Deeksha
Udupi: Sridharananda Saraswathi Swamiji of Gulbarga district on Thursday, December 22 accepted the Dharmadhikari Deeksha of Savita Samaj from Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math.
Various rituals, including ‘Pattabhishekha’, were conducted amidst chanting of mantras at Sri Krishna temple premises under the guidance of Pejawar Swamiji. Prior the ‘Pattabhishekha’ Ganahoma was held. A large number of devotees had come to witness the event.
Shridharananda Swamiji hails from Konchuru village, Chitrapura Taluk of Gulbarga district. His earlier name was Shridhara. He has completed his spiritual and social education at Siddaganga and Adichunchanagiri Math. His Father H Anjaneya has been working as deputy manager in State Bank of Mysore Hyderabad – Vaadi branch and mother Padmavathi is a Housewife.
Shridhar’s brother holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering while his sister is doing engineering in the Electronic and communication filed. Shridhar was attracted to spirituality from a young age. He has also studied Sanskrit grammar
Speaking to the media persons Sridharananda Swamiji said I took Deeksha from Pejawar Swamiji. I was attracted to spirituality from my young age. Today I have taken only the Dharmadhikari Deeksha and did not accept the Sanyasa Deeksha. My Community leaders asked me to accept the Dharmadhikari Deeksha to lead the Savita Samaj Dharma Peeta. With the help of our community leaders, I will lead the Savita Samaj Dharma Peeta honestly. After three years I will take the Sanyasa Deeksha from the Pejawar Swamiji, he added.
