SRS, HJJ and ABHM Demand Apology from Sri Pejawar Swamiji for Holding Iftar in Temple

Mangaluru: The Sri Rama Sene in association with Hindu Jana Jagrati and Akhila Bharata Hindu Mahasabha staged a protest at Lal Bagh on July 2, against Sri Pejawar Swamiji for organising Iftar Get-together at the Sri Krishna Math.

Addressing the protesters state spokesperson of Hindu Mahasabha Dharmendra said, “Pejawar Swamiji’s Iftar Celebration inside the Math is condemnable. There is a political conspiracy in the celebrations. Five years ago when Janardhan Poojary celebrated Iftar in the Gokarnanatheshwar Temple the BJP and Sangh Parivar protested but when Pejawar Swamiji celebrated Iftar in the Temple and allowed the Muslims who consume beef, the same people maintained silence. From the past 40 years, the Swamiji did not celebrate Iftar with the Muslim community but keeping the forthcoming elections in mind the Iftar was celebrated in the Temple. This is a political conspiracy and Pejawar Swamiji is the victim.”

Dharmendra further said, “Pejawar Swamiji is our religious leader and we have great respect towards him. We are not against the Pejawar Swamiji but we are against the Iftar get-together and for allowing Muslims to hold Namaz in the Temple premises”.

Dharmendra also said, “Swamiji also says that Muslims had donated the land for the temple but Swamiji should read and understand the history of Sri Krishna Math. This is a Hindu Nation, the Swamiji should withdraw his statement. Age factor has also played a role in Pejawar Swamiji’s holding Iftar in the Math. Swamiji should step down and appoint a successor for the temple. Swamiji should apologise to the Hindu community and the temple should be cleaned with Cow urine. If the Swamiji will not apologise we will continue our protest until we get justice”.
