SSLC: Udupi secures First Place, Manjesh and Ranjitha Toppers in District

Udupi: From the Second position in 2015-16, the Udupi district has topped the State in the pass percentage in SSLC examinations in 2016-17. Many schools in the district including government schools have secured 100 percent results.

The district had topped in the State with a pass percentage of 84.23. Last year, the pass percentage was 89.52.

As per the initial reports, Ranjitha of the Government PU College Uppunda and Manjesh of Government PU College Byndoor secured 622 marks and emerged as the toppers in the district. Vijetha Prabhu of Sandeepan English Medium School Nagoor secured 621 marks while Shreya Shetty of Venkatramana School Kundapur and Pallavi Prabhu of Anantheshwara English medium School Bailakere secured 620 marks. Ananth Nayak and Kishan Nayak of Government High School Volakadu secured 618 marks.

Divakar Shetty DDPI of Udupi district speaking to Mangalorean.com said that systematic planning and hard work helped in improving the results. To improve the results in the district, the officials from the education department had analyzed the mid-term exams. Those who had failed in the mid-term exams were given special training. Special residential coaching was given to SC/ST students in the district. Teachers have played a vital role in improving the pass percentage, he added.

Pramod Madhwaraj district minister congratulated the officials of the department of public instructions for working hard to secure the first position in the SSLC and PUC examinations.

wow, many govt schools have done well in Udupi . this is a welcome surprise. People from English medium schools have done ok ….. especially the GSB community has been excelling always
