St. Aloysius Gonzaga School holds PTA Annual General Body Meeting
Mangaluru : St. Aloysius Gonzaga School (SAGS) -Mangaluru held its Parent-Teacher’s Annual General Body Meeting of the academic year 2019-20 on 6th July 2019 in the school hall. The Vice President of the Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society and Rector of St Aloysius institutions in Mangaluru Rev. Fr. Dionysius Vaz SJ; Guest Speaker Mrs Supriya Hedge, consultant psychiatrist at Fr. Muller’s Hospital; Principal of SAGS Rev Fr. Melwyn Lobo SJ; Vice-principal Ms Jacintha D’Costa were the dignitaries of the day.
Fr. Dionysius Vaz in his message highlighted the challenges involved in raising the present generation. Some of the challenges he said could be overcome by giving quality time to their children, helping them to discover their real talent, allowing them to ask questions and parent playing the role of facilitator would go a long way in bringing up children in the right way.
The resource person addressed the gathering on parenting skills and guidance to improve social and emotional development of children and adolescents. She highlighted on what is good parenting in terms of giving children what is needed according to their age and not becoming liberal parent by fulfilling all their desires. The Principal spoke about the priorities of St. Aloysius Gonzaga School highlighting its achievements. He then introduced all the teaching staff and put forth certain important instructions before the parents.
The election of the new Parent Teacher Executive Committee (PTEC) was conducted and new PTEC was constituted. Arthur and faculty members did the invocation in the beginning, Ms Anila John compered the program, Ms Aparna Suresh welcomed the gathering. Ms Rasha D’Souza, the counselor introduced the guest speaker and Ms Vidya Esther rendered the note of gratitude. The meeting concluded with singing of the national anthem.
