St Aloysius Gonzaga School hosts First AICS Basketball Tournament ‘Super Hoopers-2019’

Mangaluru : It is said excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better. Excellence is what St Aloysius Gonzaga School aims at when it comes to education. Excellence in sports is particularly significant as it enables mental fitness through physical fitness. It enables in accepting success and failure in a graceful and sportive manner. Ultimately sports builds character. It was therefore St Aloysius Gonzaga school believes that AICS Inter School Basketball Tournament is a step towards excellence, fitness and forming of character.

St Aloysius Gonzaga School was proud to host the FIRST AICS Basketball tournament “SUPER HOOPERS-2019′, where 16 boys and girls teams participated. Ushering the chief guest along with other dignitaries by the school band to the dais, the inaugural programme began with a prayer and welcome dance, followed by welcome address by Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, the Principal of the School.

The tournament was inaugurated by releasing balloons in the air by chief guest – Laxman Kunder-managing Director of V4 News, Mangalurualong with Fr Denzil W Lobo SJ-Secretary and Treasurer of Mangaluru Jesuit Education Society, Mangaluru, Fr Melwyn Lobo Sj, Ms Jacintha D’costa- Vice Principal, Dr John Pinto-Physical Education Director of First Grade College-Kavoor and Avinash S K & Ms Agnes Saldanha- both conveners.

The valedictory ceremony was held at the Gonzaga stadium, whre Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ-Principal of St Aloysius PUC, Mangaluru was the chief guest and presided over by Fr Melwyn Lobo SJ.
