With Theme ‘Harmony in Nature’ St Aloysius College Higher Primary School-Kodialbail-Mangaluru Children Enthrall Audience with their Talents on ‘Annual Day 2017’
Mangaluru: Off late, the pressure is a lot on teachers and principals to conceive and deliver a program at the time of Annual Day/Function which is as good as it is shown during the reality shows and award nite’s on the TV channels. The entire production values involved with the programme have gone upstream. For most of the programmes nowadays, the organizers have a binding theme. Let’s talk about the importance of Peace, Harmony, Unity in diversity. But for that matter, the staff and teachers of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School (SACHPS) had come up with a unique theme named “Harmony in Nature”, thereby thinking about the importance of nature, and also to bring awareness among the children and adults the goodness of nature and environment.
St Aloysius College Higher Primary School-Kodialbail-Mangaluru celebrated its “Annual Day 2017” on 15th December 2017, with the theme “Harmony in Nature”. The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome dance. The welcome address was delivered by Josel, the School Pupil Leader. Talk about the tiny tots in action- and for that matter the L.K.G students got into action with a song, followed by a thrilling dance performance by U.K.G. Dance- and the students from both these grades were phenomenon. The Annual Report was presented through a Audio-Visual presentation, which highlighted the achievements and activities of the School.
The chief guest for the occasion was Dr Christopher Pais, an alumni of St Aloysius Institution, where in his message to the audience spoke of the nostalgic days he had spent in this St Aloysius Institution as a child. He said that the health of a child mainly depends on the parental care for them, as it is a critical stage in their life for nourishment. He asked the parents to avoid giving junk food for their wards. He also stressed on the parents to be role model to their children, and also encourage them to take active part in co-curricular activities and not just academics.
In his Presidential address the Rector of St Aloysius Institutions Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ was proud of our Institution as every child is involved in the day’s celebration. He lauded the Correspondent Rev Fr Eric Mathias SJ, Headmistress Ms Philomena Lewis and the entire staff for the valuable foundation that the students receive here. He said that every child must dream and work hard to make it a reality. “Education plays a very important role in the all round development of a child, however, the mere purpose of education is not to create an educate machine but is rather an enhancement of personality along with the inclusion of social and moral values. Despite rampant changes in the society, one should avoid lack of communication with the children. Communication between the child and his parents, child and his teachers and between teachers and parents should always continue. Many incidents are today taking place as the teachers and the parents are not aware about the real circumstances and the children take wrong steps when they do not know how to overcome the difficulties. Therefore constant interaction between parents and children, Teachers and children is always a must” added Fr Vaz Sj.
This was followed by honouring the prize winners of sports and co-curricular activities. The vote of thanks was proposed by Janani- the assistant School Pupil Leader. The grandeur in the extravagant cultural programme was witnessed by parents and well wishers. Variety of entertainment in the form of music, songs and dance comprised the cultural programme line up, namely-Dance by Std – 1 kids, followed by an English Song; the students of Std 2 highlighted “Child Labour” through their act which was very meaningful; after a Hindi Song, was a Theme Dance Drama which received loud applaud from the audience.
The special attraction of the cultural part was the bunch of folk dances which highlighted the culture and tradition of India-Folk dances included Yakshagana; Kolata Dance; Hunter Dance; Konkani Dance; Tulu Dance; and Veeraghase. And as always there is no programme complete with a Bollywood extravaganza-the school children took the audience into world of Bollywood through two scintillating Bollywood dances, which made the crowd groove on their seats? The spectacular and glittering Annual Day showbiz ended with the reciting of School Anthem
