St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute celebrates ‘Gandhi Jayanthi’

 

Mangaluru: 150th Gandhi Jayanthi is celebrated in St. Aloysius ITI on 2 October. Students offered prayer at the beginning of the program. Founder of Snehalaya Joseph Crastha was the Chief Guest for the program. St. Aloysius ITI director Fr Eric Mathias SJ, Principal Vincent Mendonsa, Vice Principal Alwyn Menezes, Training officer Roshan D’Souza was present in the occasion.

MD students Santhosh delivered welcome speech and student Percy Roy D’Souza did a speech on Bapu’s life and principles. Principal Vincent Mendonsa introduced Chief guest to the gathering. Director Eric Mathais SJ on behalf of the institution honoured the chief guest Joseph Crastha for his selfless service.

Joseph Crastha inspired the students by telling his life journey from normal bus driver to being a founder of Snehalaya. He also told, Gandhi always wanted to build a good society. Hundreds of ways are there to do a good deed to the society only we need is a good heart is his motivational message to the students.

The director motivated students do a service along with Snehalaya in his president speech. He also added serving and helping the poor and needy souls bring the real happiness. MD student Udaykumar offered vote of thanks. Nithesh was the master of ceremony. The program ended with a National anthem
