St Aloysius Institutions celebrates Feast of St Ignatius Loyola
Mangaluru : St Aloysius Institutions celebrated the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola on 31st July 2019 in Loyola Hall. The theme for the Eucharistic Celebration was ‘Give without counting the cost’. The main celebrant on this occasion was Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor-Mangaluru. In his Homily, he emphasized on the Pope’s expectation towards the Catholic youth especially in the character formation and academic excellence also how some of the Saints once led a life of sin and falsity got converted into Holy Men. He also emphasized on his life incidents that put a turning point in his life and changed his attitude to work for the needy.
This was followed by the Oath taking of the new Eucharistic ministers administered by Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ. The students generously contributed items of utmost requirement to the poor which was sent to Centre for Social Concern (CSC) which would be donated to the poor. At the end of the Eucharistic Celebration, the Rector spoke about the occasion followed by the vote of thanks by Rev. Dr Fr Praveen Martis SJ. Refreshments were served to all the staff and students. Around 2000 Catholics students and staff participated in the Eucharistic Celebration.
