St Aloysius NCC Cadets Bag 1st Place in Parade at Nehru Maidan I-Day Celebration
Mangaluru : The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at the Nehru Maidan-Mangaluru on August 15, Thursday amid heavy downpour. Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil hoisted the national tricolour and received the guard of honour. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner assured the flood affected people of the district that the district administration was with them. He also called upon everyone to lend a helping hand in the rehabilitation of the flood hit people. An attractive parade was held on the occasion.
During the occasion, 18 platoons had participated in the parade. The celebration started at 8:30 a.m. with patriotic songs from various school children and then flag hosting. In spite of heavy rain all platoons performed well and out of all other NCC group, the NCC Senior Air Wing consisting of 22 cadets from St Aloysius College and 3 cadets from St Agnes College bagged first place by marching immensely well.
