Mangaluru: As a proud Aloysian of St Aloysius Institution, I LOVE my Alma Mater and as the saying goes “An Aloysian is always an Aloysian”- I still proud to say that I am a product of St Aloysius, and I would cherish my life at the institution during my tenure at St Aloysius for the rest of my life. And I also would proud to say that you will never find a REAL educational institution like St Aloysius in this so-called “Education Hub”. Yes, Aloysius Pre-University College lies in the heart of Mangaluru, in the coastal belt of Karnataka, and the institution is managed by the Mangaluru Jesuit Educational Society. Among the finest colleges in Mangaluru, with a history of 138 years, St Aloysius PU College quests to empower the youth through excellence in education to shape a better future for humankind. The students of this institution are formed into Men and Women for others, with minds bright with knowledge and creativity and hearts burning with genuine love and concern for others.
SAPUC is renowned for its commitment to holistic education. Our motto “Lucet et Ardet” meaning ‘Shine to Enkindle’, motivates the staff and students to reach their goals. We have exemplary staff, who tirelessly work together to reach the world, one student at a time. It is a home to 3828 students studying in 56 batches-Science-30, Commerce-23 and Arts-03 in I and II PUC. The academic year 2016-17 witnessed excellent results. Among the 1524 students who appeared for the board exams 1483 passed, 354 secured distinctions, 938 passed in first class, 168 in second class and 24 in third class. Darshan P, became the State’s third topper in the board exam of 2017. A wide variety of curricular and co-curricular activities, which enable students to learn about themselves and improve their relationship with others, are organized.
The College provides excellent infrastructure and facilities with spacious well-ventilated classrooms, modern well-equipped laboratories and a Computer lab having 150 PCs and Internet facility. Other facilities include LCD projectors, CCTV in all the classrooms, elevators for the staff, a sprawling library and AV rooms. We have a vast playground with extensive and well- maintained play fields for Hockey, Football and Cricket and courts for Volleyball, Kabaddi, Throwball and Badminton and the Gymnasium housing a 12 exercise facility which is equipped for Weightlifting.
Keeping in mind the welfare of the students, the College provides a choice of various combinations. In Arts, Commerce and Science.The management have integrated batches and special integrated batches for Science students to be trained for NEET/CET/JEE examinations. A separate library facility is made available to such students to access academic and competitive exam books. Special integrated BSBA batches for Commerce students enable them to face examinations of a higher grade. The College has been undertaking CA (CPT) & CS Foundation Course for students aspiring to do CA & CS.
Students who come from economically poor background are supported too. Facilities such as: Mid-day meals, Fee concessions, Scholarships, Free text books and College Uniform are offered to them. The College conducts regular tests and exams, the marks of which are sent to the parents by post. The college has the SMS Service through OPTRA for providing the attendance of the students to their parents on daily basis. The College Website and the College Facebook Page is another medium by which the SAPUC keeps in touch with our students, Parents and Well Wishers. The college also provides a counseling cell for the students to cope with academic stress and other emotional problems. Special counseling is provided for the slow learners. Lady Students’ Grievance Cell provides a keen ear to the grievances of lady students of the College.
The main aim of the Management is to provide education for students in every walk of life. To help students to perform well in their academics, they are provided coaching and tests after college hours.

– CET Peak Performance: To enable students to face the challenge of competitive exams like CET, a crash course is conducted
– CLAT: St Aloysius PU College in association with “Career Launch”, Bangalore is conducting ‘CLAT’ entrance exam coaching.
– Remedial and special coaching classes: These are provided to help students to perform well in their academics.
St Aloysius PU College strives to achieve overall development of the students by providing them with a platform to showcase their talents in major events like ‘Pulse’ for commerce and arts students, ‘Avalanche’ for Science students, Musical Day, Sports Day, Pre-Unique (an intellectual and cultural fest), College Day, and also by training their students to compete in events organized by other Colleges. Patriotism and religious harmony is inculcated in their students by celebrating Independence Day, Republic Day and festivals like Onam, Id-Milad, Christmas etc.They have 26 associations, which are active throughout the year, providing ample opportunity to build their confidence and face the challenges of life.The nurturing environment in the college encourages the student to be winners.
