Mangaluru: The students of St Aloysius Pre-University College have made the College proud by securing an overall 97.30% result. All the three streams have excelled with a total of 353 distinctions and 938 first classes. A total of 1483 students have outclassed out of 1524 students who had appeared for the exam. The college is proud of the diligent students who have achieved the record number of pass rates. The students have excelled with 97.42% in Science, 97.19% in Commerce and 96.77% in Arts.
Darshan P, a Commerce Student of St Aloysius PU College, has secured a perfect 100 in the core subjects, (Basic Mathematics, Statistics, Business Studies and Accountancy), 98 in Hindi and 95 in English, a total of 593 Marks out of 600 (98.83%). He is the topper of the College. Sujan D’Silva has scored the highest in Science with 589 marks and S Gopika is the Topper in Arts with 551 Marks.
Nevertheless, St Aloysius Evening Pre-University College that Celebrated Golden Jubilee last year is proud of its students who work by the day and study in the evening.The College has obtained overall 90% results, with 90% in Commerce and 86% in Arts.
Karan K Varne, who works in the Hardware shop in Thokottu and travels in the evening to the College to pursue his education is the Arts Topper. He has scored 464 Marks. He had Scored 36% in SSLC but his hard work in II PUC has given him a reward of 77.3%. Ganesh who works by the day in a Milk shop has scored 438/600 in Commerce. Harini who works at a garment shop has scored 403/600 in Commerce amidst all the odds. She lost her father in between the board exams 2017.The other toppers are Shilpa V of Commerce with 432 Marks and Swathi Kambale with 413 Marks in Arts.
