St Christopher Association Members Visit Childrens’ Home ‘CARDTS Samvedanaa’
Mangaluru: To mark the Good Friday, members of St Christopher Association paid a visit to CARDTS Samvedanaa at Adu Maroli on March 30 and interacted with the children.
The members of the association donated grocery and other items to the home.
Area Corporator Keshav Maroli was the chief guest of the programme. Addressing the gathering Keshav Maroli said, “Today the Christian fraternity observes Good Friday. Jesus gave us love and peace and sacrificed himself for mankind. Jesus loved the poor and the needy likewise the association is doing yeomen service towards the society especially by helping the poor and the needy people in the society. The association has been rendering their service for the past 50 years which is praiseworthy.”
Presiding over the programme, Honorary President of the association Sushil Noronha said, “From the past 40 days we are concentrating on spirituality, fasting and holding service activities. Today is a very special day for us because Jesus was crucified for our sins. Jesus came to this world to save us from our sins and he was crucified. Jesus said Love your neighbour and help the poor. Today the association members are here to share with those whom God loved the most.”
President Francies D’Souza welcomed the gathering and Secretary Nigel Pereira delivered the vote of thanks. CARDTS in-charge Jaya Salian compered the programme. Joint Secretary Leena D’Souza, Denis Lobo, Julian Dias, John Rodrigues, Jerald D’Souza, Oswald D’Cunha and Antony D’Souza were also present.
