St Joachim Church Kadaba, commemorates its Centenary Celebrations on April 17th

The event, graced by the presence of Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, the Bishop of Belthangady, and Most Rev Dr Geevarghese Marc Makarios, the Bishop of Puttur, and other eminent dignitaries, by inaugurating the church gate and church bell witnessed a blend of prayer, gratitude, and recognition.

The celebration commenced with a Thanksgiving Eucharist presided over by the Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, the Bishop of Belthangady, and Most Rev Dr Geevarghese Marc Makarios, the Bishop of Puttur, Rev Fr Paul Prakash our Parish Priest and 50 priests participated in the concelebration. The event witnessed the participation of many religious sisters and laity of the locality. Most Rev Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, the Bishop of Belthangady.

Following the Eucharist, a formal Felicitation programme took place at the church hall. Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Most Rev Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, Most Rev Dr Geevarghese Marc Makarios, Rev Fr Lawrence Mascreanhas, Dean of Puttur Deanery, Mr Simon CA, Superintendent of Police, Rev Sr Cecilia Mendonca BS, Bethany Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province and Rev Sr Anthony Mary, JMJ Provincial Superior Bangalore Province were the dignitaries on the dais.

On the occasion of the Centenary Celebration, the Parish Priest and Parishioners felicitated the former Parish Priests and Superiors who served this parish towards its growth and mission. And we honored all the Priests and Religious sisters who belong to this parish. We also Felicitated the former Parish Presidents and Vice Presidents by all the dignitaries.

In his presidential address, Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha praised the significant contributions of all the parishioners. Bishop Peter said, “We have come here with grateful hearts for all the wonders God has done in each one’s life through the powerful intercession of St Joachim. The bishop congratulated everyone especially all the former parish priests and religious sisters for their dedication and faith towards God. Where there is faith there is the true light and this light gives life to everyone.” The bishop congratulated everyone.

Fr Paul Prakash D’Souza welcomed the gathering, Mr Anish Lobo delivered the vote of thanks, and Fr Lawrence Mascreanhas led the grace before meals. Mr Premjith and Sr Gretta Mascreanhas BS compared the programme. A Musical Night was held at St. Joachim School ground.
