St Lawrence Shrine Bondel to hold Fiesta 2020 ‘Come Celebrate Your Life’
Mangaluru: St Lawrence Church and Shrine, Bondel is organising Bondel Fiesta 2020 at Bondel Church Grounds on 25th and 26th January 2020. It is being organised for the second year in a row with good response by people from all religion across the city and outside taking part in the fiesta last year.
The expected crowd this year, like last year, would be around 12000 to 15000, enjoying the entertainment, food and game stalls from 3 pm on Saturday to 10 pm on Sunday. Both veg and Non-veg delicacies will be served to tickle the taste buds of the connoisseurs. Entertainment and fun games will be held every minute to keep up the spirits of the participants. Lucky draw, housie both traditional and creative, Team games, live singing, Musical evening, etc. will make Bondel Fiesta a place to be during these two days.
Around 40 stalls will be placed equally dedicated to games and food. There will be a face painting counter so as to provide a festive and colourful look to the gathering. Special attraction this year will be Live Sketching and Painting by a renowned artist ‘Nirupam Konwar’ from Guwahati and based at Bengaluru. Painting done will be auctioned at the Fiesta. To go along with it we have two mega-events happening each evening. On 25th January, Saturday at 5 30 pm we have “Star Chef of Fiesta”, a very unique fashion show cum spoken round for all the homemakers. On 26th January, Sunday, we will host the event, “Talented Siblings” for all. Already we have a dozen participants registered for these events.
Also, as a part of our social media reach, we have initiated a competition called, ‘Star of Fiesta’ where individual pictures are posted in the Bondel Fiesta Frame and shared among the social media groups. The picture with the highest likes will be declared the Star of Fiesta and will be given a cash award of Rs 5,555.
Every member of St Lawrence Church will be out of their homes and will be completely engrossed in making these two days of fun and extravaganza meaningful and beautiful for all those who participate in it. The entire revenue generated will be used for the development of our church and its upcoming projects.
On 26th January Sunday at 6:00 pm Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese will inaugurate the CD ‘Mogachi Lara’ composed by Mr Vincent Fernandes Cascia.
