St Sebastian Church Bendur Parish Holds Traditional Day ‘Pavsa Gammat’
Mangaluru: St Sebastian Church, Bendur in association with Catholic Action League and YCS Organized Traditional food and Konkani Cultural Programme “Pavsa Gammat” at the Silver Jubilee hall, Bendur here on July 28.
Fr Vincent Monteiro, Parish Priest inaugurated the programme by cutting the jackfruit. Resident Priest of St Sebastian Church Fr Walter Dmello was the Chief Guest of the programme. Addressing the gathering Fr Walter Dmello conveyed a beautiful message stressing the importance of conserving our ancestral cultures and traditions.
Nelson Monteiro welcomed the gathering and Fr Rohan Dias delivered the vote of thanks.
The special attraction of the programme was the traditional food and Traditional Konkani Songs by Claud, Joswin, Asha and team. The MAT Committee under the leadership of Arun set a beautiful Traditional stage for the programme.
A wonderful performance was given by YCS and CAL members which portrayed the traditions of our culture.
Ex-MLA J R Lobo, Asst Priests Fr Rohan Dias and Fr Nelson Peris; Parish Council Secretary Mavis Rodrigues; Vinod D’Souza, Nelson Monterio and the Conveners the programme were also present.
