Stany Alvares Elected President of RACHANA
Mangaluru: The RACHANA Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the elections held for the post of president at Valencia Church Hall on July 30, elected well-known stage play artiste and Konkani Movie actor Stany Alvares as President of RACHANA for the year 2017-19.
Stany Alvares was the former president of Mandd Sobhann and Konkni prachar Sanchalan and an active member of the Konkani Community. He is also the General Secretary of District Congress Committee.
Elias Sanctis elected vice president, Anil Vas Secretary, Nelson Monteiro Joint Secretary and Felix Pinto Treasurer of RACHANA.
Executive Committee members are: John Monteiro, Eulalia D’Souza, Louis Lobo, Lawrence D’Souza, Victor Cutinha and James Madtha.
Ex-Officio Members are: Gilbert D’Souza and Anil Lobo
Speaking to mangalorean.com newly elected President Stany Alvares said, “My main aim is to introduce youngsters to Rachana. I want our Youngsters to be entrepreneurs and RACHANA will encourage and help them. I will also continue the projects initiated by the past presidents. As president, I will do my best to bring out the talents from our community. Discussions will be held with all the members of RACHANA on the future plans and work will be done accordingly.”
