State Appellate Authority member’s visit UPCL
Udupi: The members of Karnataka State Appellate Authority visited UPCL and the power plant premises and houses near the power plant here on November 4.
M V Sheshan member secretary of Karnataka State Appellate Authority said, “The petitions are pending, we have visited the power plant and surrounding areas and the observations are recorded. The analysis and report will be presented to the appellate authority for hearing. The reports of water samples will be submitted during the hearing”.
The team visited the ash pond disposal area which has been filled up and monitored by the power plant. Mudarangadi Gram Panchayat president in his submission to the appellate authority said that he has not witnessed any violations by the power plant.
The petitioners also submitted their views to the appellate authority. Kishore Alva of Adani Group said that saplings have been planted and proper measures are implemented in the power plant.
Vijay Kumar Hegde of UPCL Horatha Samithi, Vidya Dinker Social Activist and others were also present.
