State Government trying to Help Private Companies – Jagadish Shettar
Udupi: Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar visited the Sri Krishna Temple on Thursday, December 8 where he met Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math and received his blessings.
Later speaking to the media persons Jagadish Shettar said that the state government is trying to help the private companies by reversing its decision to declare Kappatagudda forest in Gadag district as a conservation reserve.
The government had issued a notification in 2015 declaring parts of Kappatagudda forest as conservation reserve areas going by the ecological aspects. However, on November 4, 2016, the notification was withdrawn to help the mining company Baldota group. If the government has real concern for the forests, it should go by the notification issued in 2015 declaring parts of Kappatagudda forest as conservation reserve areas, he demanded.
Speaking on the Tax department raid on Chikkarayappa and Jayachandra’s house Shettar said that state government is trying to protect the corrupt officials by using the ACB.
