State Govt to Launch Mukhya Mantri Anila Bhagya Yojana by Aug 15 – Khader
Mangaluru: “The State Government will provide free LPG connection (SBC Rs 1940) along with a double burner gas stove (Rs 999) to Mukhya Mantri Anila Bhagya beneficiaries in the state. The PHH (priority household) or AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) ration card holders, who do not have LPG connection will be eligible for MMABY”, said the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on July 27.
Addressing the mediapersons Minister Khader said, “Funds would be provided by the department of Food and Civil Supplies from out of HOA-3456-00-103-0-01-106 subsidy towards Mukhya Mantri Anila Bhagya Yojana. The amount would be paid directly to the bank account of the LPG distributors through the DC, depending on the bills raised by the LPG distributors, after installation of LPG connections to the beneficiaries.”
Khader further said, “Any female member in the PHH/AAY ration card who is above 18 years can approach a service KIOSK of the department for applying to MMABY. In cases where there is no female member in the ration card, then any male member above 18 years can apply for MMABY. The application software for MMABY at the service KIOSK would bio-authenticate the member in the card on Aadhar platform. The KIOSK operator would then check for the availability of LPG connection against the Aadhar number of all the family members in the card, by checking the status on the public website of OMCs, wherein a service is provided to check the status of LPG on the entry of the Aadhar number. The application will cost Rs 20. Those who have applied under Ujjwala and did not get the gas connection can apply under the Mukhya Mantri Anila Bhagya Yojana. The beneficiaries will get a stove worth Rs 999 and LPG connection including Cylinder, regulator Suraksha Hose (1.5mtr), DGC Booklet and the inspection and installation charges worth Rs 1940 free. In the Ujjwala scheme, there are hidden charges which the beneficiaries are not aware of. By August 15th Chief minister Siddaramaiah will launch the Mukhya Mantri Anila Bhagya Yojana in Uttara Kannada.”
Khader also said, “A state level empowered committee under the chairmanship of the chief secretary will take the policy decisions regarding the scheme and review its overall implementation in the state. A district level committee under the chairmanship of the In-charge Minister comprising of elected representatives, officials and nominated persons will review the implementation of the scheme in the district and would meet as and when required but at least once in every three months. A district level committee under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner will be formed”.
Transparency and Social Audit
A separate web page for MMABY shall be developed and a link will be available on the web site of the food department at http:/ahara.kar.nic.in. The web page will display the information regarding inter alia, scheme guidelines of MMABY, standard specifications of the double burner gas stove, district wise status of applications, approval, release and distribution of connections, a list of beneficiaries, call center numbers for grievance redressal and queries regarding safety issues. An SMS alert will be sent to the beneficiaries registered mobile numbers as soon as information regarding the release of connection and installation of connection in their homes is received from the LPG distributor. The SMS alert will inform the beneficiary that installation of connection in her/his home is complete. The message will contain information regarding the call center number for lodging complaints if any as well as the dedicated number 1967 for any queries regarding safety issues.
