State-level Rajyotsava Award to be presented by end of November
Udupi: The State Kannada and Culture minister and also the Udupi District minister in-charge Dr Jayamala said that the selection for state-level Kannada Rajyotsava Awards is already completed and the awards will be presented by end of November.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, November 21, Dr Jayamala said that the government is committed to present the Kannada Rajyothsava awards with all honours. The list of awardees was given to the chief ministers on October 30 and could not be presented on November 1 because of the Election model code of conduct.
The list of state awardees is ready and the chief minister has fixed a meeting on November 29 to present the awards.
When asked about the absence of factory owners at the meeting of the Sugarcane farmers’ to decide the minimum support price, the minister said, “I do not know what problems the sugarcane traders are facing. Our government is purely pro-farmer and we are committed to continuing our support to the farmers”, she said.
When the journalist’s asked about the insult by CM to a woman farmer, Jayamala said, “The CM had neither disrespected the woman nor had he said anything wrong. Some sections of media have misinterpreted his statements. The Chief Minister has the utmost respect for women”.
