State Under 9 Girls Chess Championship: Shriyana Mallya qualifies for Nationals
Mangaluru: Shriyana S Mallya, 9-year-old chess prodigy from Mangaluru, has won the Karnataka state level under 9 girls’ chess championship – 2019. This win will make her eligible to represent Karnataka state in the national chess championship- 2019.
The chess championship was held under the auspices of Bangalore Rural District Chess Association (R) and United Karnataka Chess Association from June 28 to June 30, 2019, at the YMCA Hall Near Reserve Bank of India, Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore.
Shriyana won 9 out of 9 rounds. Altogether 92 girls participated in this category.
Shriyana is studying in 4th standard in Lourdes Central School, Bejai. Mangalore.
