Stone Pelting Incident at MLC Ivan D’Souza’s House in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A group of miscreants pelted stones at the residence of MLC Ivan D’Souza in Valencia, Mangaluru, on the night of August 21. The incident is believed to be a consequence of D’Souza’s controversial statement against the Governor.

According to sources, the miscreants arrived on bikes and pelted stones.

The Pandeshwar Police promptly responded to the incident and are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.

Senior police officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Central), and the Inspector of Police (South), visited the spot immediately after the incident. Security around the residence of MLC Ivan D’Souza has been increased, with a CAR party being deployed 24×7 to ensure the safety of the MLC and his family.

A case (NC) has been registered in South PS. A special team has been formed under the leadership of ACP Central and PI South to expedite the investigation. The team has been specifically instructed to collect all relevant evidence, including CCTV footage from nearby shops and establishments. Additionally, local intelligence efforts have been intensified to gather any information that may lead to the identification and apprehension of the culprits.
