Stop Releasing Water to Tamil Nadu – Capt Karnik

Mangaluru: “Stop Releasing Water to Tamil Nadu. Cauvery issue is not new, there were fights in the past. The state government should present the report that the people of Karnataka are facing a severe water crisis. The best solution is not to leave water to Tamil Nadu. It is the duty of the state government to protect the interests of the people. When the people of Karnataka do not have water, how can we give water to Tamil Nadu?” questioned Capt Ganesh Karnik in a press meet held at the BJP office here on September 21.

Addressing the mediapersons the district BJP president Sanjeev Matandoor  said, “The BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the vision to make India a developed country under the Smart City project. To fulfill the vision and make it a reality Modi has implemented Make in India, Digital India, Swacch Bharat, Skill India and Samsad, which are successful”.

Sanjeeva Matandoor said, “Modi’s vision is to build 100 smart cities across the country under ‘Digital India’. In the second phase, the union minister has announced the smart cities list and Mangaluru is one amongst them. Mangaluru has all the basic facilities such as road connectivity, Railways, national and international flight connectivity, population, education, industries and business. We feel proud to be in the list of 100 smart cities”.

Under the smart city scheme, the central government will sanction Rs 100 crore and with the support of the state government, Mangaluru city corporation and the private companies, the project will succeed. We thank prime minister Modi and union minister Venkaiah Naidu for taking a special interest in including Mangaluru in the smart city list. We also thank MP Nalin Kumar for his efforts in this regard.

The state government, MCC and the district administration should implement this project on time without any problems and make Mangaluru a Model Smart City.
