Striker Petagna included in Italy football squad
Milan, March 20 (IANS) Young Atalanta striker Andrea Petagna has been included in the Italian football squad that will face Albania in a World Cup qualifier on Friday, as Manolo Gabbiadini and Federico Bernardeschi withdrew due to injuries.
“There have been two recent withdrawals from the Italy squad, with Bernardeschi and Gabbiadini both suffering injuries over the weekend. Coach Gian Piero Ventura has subsequently called-up Atalanta attacker Andrea Petagna,” Italian football federation, FIGC said in its website on Monday.
The squad gathered at Coverciano training centre on Sunday. They will face Albania in Palermo, before then playing the Netherlands in a friendly in Amsterdam four days later.
