Student beaten up by teacher, Case filed at Venoor Police Station
Moodbidri: A case has been registered against the teacher of Kumbhashree English Medium High School, Venoor for beating a 9th standard student in the Venoor police station here on September 25.
According to the complaint by the student Bharati (name changed), she was staying in the hostel since Kumbhashree is a residential school. Every day the teacher Girish used to make the students sit and study till 1 am. On September 23, Girish had given homework which Bharati had completed by 12 midnight. But Girish was not happy with her homework. He hit Bharati badly on her hand with a ruler, not satisfied, he again banged Bharathi’s head to the wall. Later Bharathi went to her room and slept.
On September 24, Bharathi informed her parents about the assault by Girish. Bharathi’s parents came to the school and admitted her to the hospital. At the same time, they also informed the Childline for help. The childline team took the initiative to investigate the case.
On September 25, a case was registered against Girish in the Venoor police station.
