Student Induction Programme: Three-Day FDP sponsored by AICTE commences at Sahyadri

Mangaluru: Three-Day Faculty Development Programme during 18th to 20th June’18 on ‘Student Induction Programme’ sponsored by AICTE was held at Sahyadri. Mr. Sanjeev Chopra, the Resource Person of the FDP shared his views on Universal Human Values and its importance in present scenario to build a better nation. Mr. Dayal from AICTE South-west Region Bengaluru was also present and shared his thoughts on the importance of student induction programme for engineering institutions. Mr. Dayal went around the campus and appreciated the efforts of management in terms of student-centric initiatives which is on par with AICTE expectations. Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Director-Strategy & Planning and Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal presented the innovative features of Sahyadri to them. A total of 100 participants from 30 institutes are attending the FDP.

Day Two FDP at Sahyadri

The second day of Faculty Development Programme started with recapitulating previous day’s learning by Mr. Uddhav Kumar followed by a session by Mr. Sanjeev Chopra. The key takeaways of today’s sessions was to enable faculty in connecting the students to society, adaptability to new environment, developing a holistic view of life and to make the faculty realize their responsibility through the process of bonding among the students, sensitization to their living environment (hostel and college staff), assimilation in the ethos and culture of the Institution.

AICTE FDP concludes

Prof. R Hariharan, Advisor – AICTE was a part of the Valedictory ceremony of the Three-Day AICTE Sponsored Faculty Development Programme for ‘Student Induction Programme’. While addressing the gathering he spoke on Model Curriculum for the first year, Internships, Faculty induction programme, Exam reforms and also about creating a common platform for engineering aspirants. He also shared his views on responsibility of faculty members to inspire the students and take care of students with a diversified mind. He went around the campus and appreciated the efforts of management on the infrastructure and start-ups.

Few faculty participants had an opportunity to share their experience on the three-day FDP. Mr. Sanjeev Chopra also shared his experience of the three-day long event at Sahyadri. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Director-Strategy and Planning and was presided by Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal and Ramesh A N, Assistant Director AICTE.
