Students should be innovative to help the poor – Annamalai
Karkala: Chikkamagaluru police superintendent Annamalai urged the students to get into innovations that help the poor farmers who commit suicide and the poor people.
He was speaking at a function organised by Jnanasudha Institutions Karkala on Sunday, February 12, Annamalai said that the country with the largest youth population has opened its doors for a bright future. Lamenting over decreasing generosity, he said that the present day education system reflects the behaviour of humans in the society. The education system wherein feeds the students with irrelevant subjects without human values. He urged the students not to limit their life. He said that individuals should find ways to channelize their energy and education to give back to the society, he added.
Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde said that all the three wings of democracy with the fourth estate are composed with no tool left to uphold the democratic values. Currently, democracy is the government of some people, by some people and for some people. The society worships only the rich, discontentment has literally ruined humanity among homo-sapiens.
Coming down heavily on the parliamentarians who indulge in walkouts, protests and unnecessary arguments without any productive outcome in the parliamentary sessions, Justice Hegde said that in the recently held 24 days Lok Sabha sessions, only one bill pertaining to the handicap issue was passed. As per media reports, the expense for one-day session is Rs 10 crore. He added that the development of the country is immobilised with the reckless peoples representatives. He added that his report on mines scam has held three CMs, seven ministers and 600 bureaucrats guilty.
