Sullia: A tractor carrying workers to a stone quarry on the way to Bellare went out of its driver’s control and fell into a gorge near the bus stop at Sheni in Chokkadi in the taluk on Thursday.
Madhava Gowda (35), who was driving the tractor and Narayana Naik (40) died on the spot. Another worker, Subrahmanin Rajendra (42), died on the way while being taken to hospital. Devappa Sheni, who was also on board, has sustained minor injuries.
Police arrived from Sullia and made arrangements to take the bodies for post-mortem examination.
