DJ Zedd pumps up the party at Vh1 Supersonic 2015
“We might not know why, we might not know how. But baby, tonight, we’re beautiful nowa — That’s the track Grammy Award winning DJ Zedd picked to go on a date with India.
The Russian-German music producer on Monday opened his sound box on the shores of Candolim beach here with his maiden performance in the country at Vh1 Supersonic 2015.
Zedd, whose real name is Anton Zaslavski, gave a spin to the day two of the ongoing four-day music extravaganza with a high octane performance. The message of day two was loud and clear — let there be more and more music.
It all started with a flash of white light illuminating the ‘Iron Heart’ stage after a blackout and energetic tunes seeping in, before a blast of colours and music by Zedd.
The producer, who is rumoured to be dating singer Selena Gomez, hit the right notes to enter the hearts of the fest visitors.
From going back to “black and white” era, infusing myriad hues to the world of music, Zedd seemed to be a wizard coming out with new tricks to enamour the crowd. For instance, when he turned down the music and audience filled in the silence.
The fireworks, kaleidoscope of lights, laser lights playing games, and visuals in the background taking the performance to a different level.
Dressed in a black shirt, Zedd was seen jumping and prancing on the stage with the audience. His popularity was quite visible as his session neared its end, gloominess took over the crowd with a void getting created after the fast-paced party.
With the eclectic playlist, it seemed that the tracks picked by Zedd dropped a message for India– “I will never let you goa, “Rude”, “Why does it feel good to be bada, “You make me feel so alive, and “Are you gonna stay the night”.
Zedd also captured the moment on his phone. He also said: “India how are you feeling right now. India love you guys.”
Zedd also showed the crowd another use of cellphones when he asked the fans to switch on the light and sway on the beats.
While Zedd stole the show on the second day with his energy, other performers included Don Diablo, Teddy Killers, Joris Voorn and Nic Fanciuli.
The Dutch DJ created a music bubble of music with beach in the trace zone.
One can also get a glimpse of sneak peak to the other world with EZone’s trippy 270 degree dome animation. It is something worth trying as it will leave Ayou bewitched.
Talking about the crowd, the festival is seeing a diverse crowd — from girls in short dresses to mature group of women opting for suits-salwars to saris.
Day three is expected to get better with musical geniuses like Tuhin Mehta, Joran Van Pol, Norman Doray, Deorro, Culture Shock, Luigi Madonna making to the three stages.
