Sunil Kumar not aware Allah, Rama and Jesus are all One and Names are different – Ramanath Rai
Karkala: “Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar is dividing and creating disharmony among communities by comparing the forthcoming elections as between Allah and Lord Rama. Instead of creating a communal divide, let him respect the people of all faiths. I need not learn about Lord Rama from Sunil Kumar”, said the District Minister In-charge B Ramanath Rai on January 24.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Ramanath Rai said, “Karkala MLA came to the Bantwal Constituency and delivered an inciting speech saying that the forthcoming elections are not between Ramanath Rai and Rajesh Naik infact they are between Allah and Lord Rama. Sunil Kumar has no knowledge that there is only one God. Lord Rama, Allah and Jesus Christ are all one, their names are different and the people who believe in God will not utter these words. BJP is encouraging such cheap statements which affect the peace and harmony in the district. Dakshina Kannada is a sensitive district and such statements may lead to communal violence”.
Ramanath Rai further said, “I am Ramanath Rai, when I was born my father had taken me to Rameshwar and named me Ramanath. I do not need lessons from anyone about God and Lord Rama. I respect people from all walks of life. All the Gods, Goddesses and deities are in my soul. Sunil Kumar has the thoughts of only creating communal violence.”
Ramanath Rai stressed and said, “Sunil Kumar won the elections by fooling the people by assuring of bringing the Tiger scheme but has failed in his promises. In public life, I am into politics for many years, I never called anyone communal nor have I hurt any community. I respect the people of all religions which bothers the BJP. When the elections are nearing the BJP leaders come to my constituency and deliver inciting speeches. Dragging Lord Rama and Allah into the elections is wrong.”
Clarifying the statement about winning the elections because of Muslims, Ramanath Rai said, “Once in a Beary Sahitya Sammelan, while delivering a speech I had said, “I have a large number of friends who speak Beary language. Every time in my constituency during the election the JD(S) is fielding a Muslim Candidate against me. But I never face any difficulties in winning the elections. In the last elections, the Bantwal and Vittal constituencies were separated and three forth of Vittal was added to the Bantwal constituency where the highest population belongs to the Muslim community. They have voted me and it is also because of their votes I have won the elections. Along with that, I had said that K M Ibrahim was contesting against me from the Bantwal constituency but the Muslims voted in my favour and elected me. If the Muslims would have voted for the JD(S) candidate K M Ibrahim I would not have won the elections. The BJP leaders have given a different meaning and the Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar is questioning my secular stand.”
While concluding Ramanath Rai said, “People of my constituency are well aware of what Ramanath Rai is. I know how people respect me. Instead of giving such statements, let Sunil Kumar learn to respect all the people and work towards bringing communal harmony in the district.”
