Suratkal Police Arrest Youth for Pestering College Girls
Mangaluru: The Suratkal police have arrested a youth for eve-teasing college girls and Women here on September 23.
The arrested has been identified as Shodhan Poojary (27), from Suratkal.
According to sources, Shodhan Poojary was troubling girls who were on the way to college. He was pestering girls and women walking alone. he was trying to converse with them and when they stop, molesting them and fleeing from the spot.
Youth in the locality were waiting for Shodhan to catch him red-handed. On September 23, when he was pestering a girl they caught him and handed him over to the Suratkal police.
A case has been registered in the Suratkal police station. Shodhan was arrested and produced before the court where he was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
Looks like he has some mental issue. This goes beyond typical boundaries of eve teasing. Either way, any form of eve teasing, sexual harassment needs to be taken very seriously. Hope that he gets some ‘nice’ treatment at local police station.
