Surya Narayana Temple Bramhakalashotsava on April 17-26 – MP Nalin

Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel held a press meet at the Surya Narayana Temple, Maroli here, on April 13.

Addressing the mediapersons, Kateel said, “The Bramhakalashotsava at the Surya Narayana Temple will be held from April 17 to April 26 and the preparations are on for the same. The temple holds a historical significance and renovations of various temples are going on across the district. The renovation of the Surya Narayana temple was undertaken about 4 years ago under the renovation committee headed by myself and District Minister In-charge, Ramanath Rai”.

He said that around Rs 15 crore is spent on the renovation of the temple so far and another Rs 4-5 crore is required to complete the work. He said, “The people have contributed generously and I thank them for ensuring the smooth running of the temple affairs.”

One can witness various cultural and spiritual programmes every day from April 17 to 26 between 6 to 8 PM in the temple premises. About 10 lakh devotees are expected to take part in the Bramhakalashotsava. Steps are taken to ensure a hassle free programme. Recently a meeting was held in this regard headed by MLA J R Lobo. Emergency services will be on standby, parking spaces will be provided, roads will be opened for the Bramhakalashotsava.

Eminent guests like, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Fisheries Minister Abhaychandra Jain, Minister Ramanath Rai and others will attend the Bramhakalashotsava.

Office bearers, Balakrishna Kottari, K P Shetty, Giridhar Shetty and others were present.
