Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan: Ramakrishna Mission completes 321 of 400 Abhiyans

Mangaluru: The twenty-sixth week of 30 cleanliness drives of the 400 Abhiyans being organised by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru took off on Sunday, 2nd April 2017 at 31 different venues.

292) Lalbagh– The members of BiruverKudla took up the cleanliness drive in front of Mangalore City Corporation and Lalbagh area. Swami Jitakamanandaji & BHV Prasad, GM, MRPL flagged off the drive. Captain Ganesh Karnik, MLC spoke a few words on the Abhiyan. Following this, about 150 members cleaned the area in Lalbagh. Uday Pujari & Abhishek coordinated the teamwork.

293) RTO Circle – The members of Hindu Warriors carried out cleanliness drive in A B Shetty Circle area after the drive was flagged off by Manohar & Sundar Poojari. Yogish Kayarthadka led the team of volunteers in cleaning the road and by-lane leading from A B Shetty Circle to Hamilton Circle. They also removed the illegal hoardings & banners.

294) M G Road– The Employees & staff of “Mangalorean.com” volunteered to carry out the drive in M G Road area. Prof. Raghotham Rao of Bangalore & Dr Vivek Modi of Hyderabad flagged off the drive. They cleaned the area opposite City Corporation & area surrounding Saibean complex. Violet Pereira and Alfie D’Souza coordinated the team.

295) Bejai– Mangalore Seniors took up the drive in the area surrounding KSRTC Bus stand. J V Shetty & C G Kini flagged off the drive. Ramesh Rao & Jayaraj Rai led the group in cleaning the roads nearby. They also removed the posters stuck on the walls of KSRTC Bus stand. In the coming weeks, the walls will be painted with artworks of Swacchata Abhiyan.

296) Karangalpady – Karangalpady Auto drivers & local residents took up the cleanliness drive in C J Kamath Road. M r Vasudev flagged off the drive. Umesh, Satish Prabhu, Rajesh and many others participated in the drive.

297) Hampankatta – The Krishna Bhavan Auto Drivers carried out the drive in the area around Clock tower. Yogesh Kumar & Wilfred Pinto flagged off the drive. Ganesh Bolar & Sudhir Pinto led the team of volunteers.

298) Kadri Mallikatta – The members of Team Deshabhimani carried out the drive in Mallikatta area. Hundreds of youths participated in the drive led by Srikar Prabhu. They cleaned the premises of Mallikatta library & both sides of the road.

299) Shivabagh – Sheela Jaiprakash led the team of volunteers in cleaning the area in Shivabagh area. Puttanna & Christi flagged off the drive. Kala Deepak, Rajalakshmi and several others, mainly women actively participated in the drive.
300) Yekkur – The members of Sri Aiyyappa Swami Bhajan Mandir & local residents carried out the drive in Yekkur area. The volunteers cleaned the ground in front of the bus stand. Bharat coordinated the team.

301) Attavara – Sri Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samiti carried out the drive in Chakrapani Temple premises and surrounding area. Dinesh, Anil Nayak and devotees of the temple participated in the drive.

302) Deralakatte – The students of K S Hegde Medical Academy took up the drive in Deralakatte area. Bhaskar & Swathi initiated the drive by waving flags. Lecturer Suhana guided about 60 students in the drive.

303) Nanthur – The member of D.K. Havyaka Sabha carried out the drive in and around PaduvaHighschool. Ramesh Moojibail & Dr Ishwar Bhat flagged off the drive. Volunteers also went from door to door distributing the handbill son awareness.

304) Kavoor – The members of Swacchkavoor team took up the drive in Kavoor area. K N Shetty & Mohan flagged off the drive. Sadananda Rai & Ramachandra led the team of volunteers in going from door to door, shop to shop, distributing awareness handbills requesting them not to throw garbage on roads.

305) Kankanadi – The members of Lions Club carried out the drive in Highland Kankanadi area. Nagesh Kumar & Ronald Goves flagged off the drive. Area between Highland hospital to Kankanadi Market were cleaned along with drains.

306) Padil – With the cooperation of Sahakara Prashanthi Mahila Mandira cleanliness drive was carried out in Padil. Vishwanath & Vinutha flagged off the drive. The area between Mahadevi Bhajana Mandir to Pallakere was cleaned. Uday K P & Balakrishna Naik coordinated the team.

307) Urwa Market – The members of MCF Mangala cleaned the area from Urwa Market to Ashok nagar. Prabhakar Rao & Jayaram Karandur flagged off the drive.

308) Mangaladevi – The inmates of Bhagini Samaj & local residents took up the drive from Mangaladevi Temple to Jeppu Road. Malini Aravind Kumar & Bhagirathi flagged off the drive. Volunteers carried out the drive for nearly 2 hours.

309) Amba Nagar – The members of Sri Amba Maheshwari Bhajana Mandir carried out the drive in Amba Nagar. Hemalatha & Pushpa flagged off the drive. Vivek Shetty & Charan Shetty & several others participated in the drive.

310) Jeppu- Niveita Balaga members carried out the drive in Jeppu area. Aravind Kumar & Basavaraj flagged off the drive. Apart from cleaning the members went from door to door campaigning about cleanliness.

311) Good shed Road – The members of Team Nityananda carried out the drive in Neereshwalya. Sujith led the team in cleaning area from Good shed road to Neereshwalya along with the adjoining roads & drains.

312) Ganeshpura – The members of JCI carried out the drive in Ganeshpura area and around Sharada Bhajana Mandir. Jayaprakash & Gangadhar Poojari flagged off the drive.

313) Mannagudda – The members of Art of Living cleaned the area near Mannagudda Guruji. Bhaskar Pai & Surekha Hegde and several others participated in the drive.

314) Yeyyadi – The members of Friends for Ever carried out cleanliness drive in Yeyyadi area. Smt. Vidya Mallya and Sowmya Sukumar flagged off the drive. Subbayya, Nirmal Kumar and others participated in the drive.

315) Vyasa Nagar –The students of KPT NSS carried out the cleanliness work in Vyas Nagar & RTO ground. Dinesh Alva & Walter Vegas flagged off the drive. The volunteers worked for nearly 3 hours.

316) Car Street – The Students of GFGC Car Street, Mangalore took up the drive under the guidance oF prof. Sheshappa Amin in Car Street.

317) Merlapadavu – The students of Srinivas College of Engineering and local residents carried out cleanliness drive in Merlapadavu village. Village Panchayat Member Vimala & Ashok Kottari flagged off the drive. The devotees of Naganagini temple too participated in the drive. They also visited door to door spreading awareness about the drive.

318) V T Road – The devotees of Sri Gokarna Math and locals took up the drive in V T Road. Mukund Kamath & Ravindranath Kamath flagged off the drive. Kamalaksha Pai & several others participated in the drive.

319) Jail road – The inmates of Sri Subramanya Sabha Sadan took up the drive under the guidance of Srikanth Rao from jail road to Bejai Church Road. Nagaraj Sharan & Jayaprakash flagged off the drive. Dr Thippeswamy, Manish Rao & others joined the drive.

320) Kotekar – The devotees of Ayyappa Bhajan Mandir carried out the drive in Kotekar main road & junction. Jitendra coordinated the drive.

321) Mangala Nagar – The members of Sharada Mahila Vrinda carried out the drive in Monkey Stand area. Vedavathi Rai & Kamalamma and several others participated in the drive. Sathyavathi coordinated the team.
