Swachh Survekshan Grameen – 2018 under SBM Scheme from Aug 1- Minister U T Khader
Mangaluru: “To keep all the Grams clean, the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation will launch the “Swacch Survekshan Grameen -2018″, under the Swacch Bharath Mission Scheme, from the first of August for 1 Month. The Survey agencies will visit every Gram and take the feedback as well as the opinion of the villagers for grading. Those with good grading will be felicitated on the Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 in Delhi”, said the Minister for Housing and Urban Development U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on July 27.
Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “As part of Swachh Survekshan Grameen, 6,980 villages in 698 districts across the country will be surveyed. A total of 34,000 public places will be surveyed. The survey team will collect the feedback from 50 lakh citizens on SBM related issues through direct interaction as well as online feedback. During the survey, the parameters on sanitation will be checked, public places will be surveyed for cleanliness and citizens feedback will be collected. Based on the performance of the districts and the states the ranks will be decided.”
Minister Khader further said, “The survey will be done from August 1 to 30 and 34,000 public places namely Anganwadis, public health centres, schools, markets, religious places, primary health centres, Panchayat offices and the main streets of the Grams will be surveyed. I request the people to maintain cleanliness and make the “Swacch Survekshan Grameen -2018″ a successful one. It is the duty of the concerned authorities to improve sanitation and maintain cleanliness in their surroundings.”
