SWAK Celebrates Fun-filled Family Picnic
Kuwait: On 4 November 2016, the pleasant climate drew the family members of Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK) to Touristic Enterprises Company, Kuwait’s – Messilah Beach for the Annual SWAK congregation.
It was a family oriented occasion for the members of SWAK to spend quality leisure time together with families and friends in their own social world.
The fun filled day started with a prayer led by committee member Committee member Gretta D’Souza.
This event too, as usual, was welcomed wholeheartedly by SWAK’s President Alwyn D’Souza. During his welcome note, he highlighted that the dusty weather over the last 3-4 days caused concern among organizers due to the published notifications on weather forecast ahead of the planned scheduled picnic In his speech, he said Mother Mary the patron of the association graced stable weather to enjoy an unforgettable day out.
The atmosphere was rife with fun and pleasure; enjoyed by the attendees across the cross section of every age whether elders, youth and the kids.
Snacks and soft drinks were served earlier in the day to energize the participants. The turnout for the picnic was significant in numbers.
It was time for enjoyment as everyone got involved with Games. A variety of games and spot prizes were organized for all age groups as men, women and kids enjoyed every moment of the day. Recreational activities for children and adults were organized by the Cultural Secretary Robert Mathias and Auditor Anil Menezes.
A break was given to conduct beach activities by the sea for the thrilled kids and adults.
This event also coincided with the birthday celebrations of Delma Lobo (daughter of Doris Lobo – General Secretary of SWAK) and Sanjay Mendonca (SWAK member). The birthday cake was sponsored by Doris Lobo.
Sumptuous lunch was served and the same was enjoyed with sincere zeal while conversations lingered over various topics of interest on the current news or their family matters. Some others were busy playing their lively games and competing to out run others by challenging them. Throughout the day the sound of laughter echoed in the breeze as families and friends spent quality time together forgetting their stress and negative aspects of their lives.
Post lunch, Auditor Anil Menezes and Cultural Secretary Robert Mathias conducted Housie Housie. Gifts were distributed thereafter for the winners of the event.
The last game of the day was the exciting Dodge Ball which pulled onlookers to witness and show their enthusiasm in playing with us. The youngsters in our group were animated in their show of strength.
At the close, Vice President Urban D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks by praising Almighty God for gracing a wonderful day with complete success and thanked the Event organizers as well as all the family members for putting in their individual efforts to stage this memorable day out with great success and joy.
The entire events on picnic day were well managed by Anil Menezes in conjunction with Robert Mathias.
