The Managing Director of ‘6th Gear eXclusive’ Venugopal, as an employee of a Mercedes dealership in Bangalore, during his tenure, observed exorbitant service costs involved in service and spare part replacement of luxury cars. He had a bad experience himself while getting his Mercedes C220 serviced with the unexplained costs and the treatment he received. He observed that there were others like him who were either completely at the dealers mercy for service and spare parts and this monopolistic situation meant customers had to shell large sums of money to maintain their luxury cars or go to the shady roadside repair mechanic who would give no guarantees of repair and rather make the situation worse.
Customers had absolutely no transparency regarding the process and mechanics of servicing their vehicles. 6th Gear was founded by him to help customers buy high quality used luxury cars with the guarantee of transparent and affordable service costs and to eventually free customers of all the hassles otherwise.
