Why take name of donkey, ignoring horses in Cong: Srinivas Prasad

Mysuru: Former minister and state BJP vice president V Srinivas Prasad asked, “Why is Chief Minister Siddaramaiah taking the name of a donkey when there are a number of horses in the Congress?”

He was speaking during a book release function here on Saturday. He was referring to Siddaramaiah’s statement in Nanjangud on Thursday that even Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa is a chief ministerial candidate. “While there are many leaders in the Congress like Mallikarjun Kharge, G Parameshwara, and K H Muniyappa among Dalits who are capable of becoming the CM, Siddaramaiah is neglecting their seniority and is projecting Mahadevappa, cunningly,” he said.

“Siddaramaiah and other Congress leaders, who have been saying that AICC president Rahul Gandhi will be the prime minister in 2019 should be admitted to an asylum. For a party which has a rich heritage, Sonia Gandhi, who could never make her own speech, was president for 19 years. Now, Rahul Gandhi, who has created a record in defeats, is the president,” he said.

Terror statement

Reacting to Siddaramaiah’s likening of the RSS and Bajrang Dal members to terrorists, Prasad said, it is an irresponsible statement. “Siddaramaiah has no hold on his words. He should understand the effects of his words. Of late, he has been issuing provocative statements. He is not trying to promote peace and harmony in the society,” he pointed out.

When his attention was drawn towards the statement of Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa, comparing Prasad to a dog barking at an elephant (Mahadevappa), Prasad said that people know who is a dog and who is an elephant.

“People understand whether Siddaramaiah is elephant or dog. Of late, Siddaramaiah has stopped claiming to be the next CM. Let us see what will be his future,” he said.
