Mumbai, July 2 (IANS) Author and Ad filmmaker Aban Bharucha Deohans who directed the 20-minute short film “Teaspoon”, says that its story depicts situations which exist in a lot of Indian homes.
“‘Teaspoon’ reflects in a way, the situation prevalent in a lot of Indian homes. The wife has to live with her in- laws, and many times the husband, who goes of to work in the morning and returns at night, has no clue what his wife has to face all day,” Deohans told IANS.
After directing innovative ads for the big brands, the talented ad filmmaker directed the the short film which exhibits an amalgamation of human emotions and psychological imbalances of human nature.
The film has has received the Best Screenplay award in the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival and has been selected for the Jagran Film Festival. It won awards in the Goa film festival, the Bangalore film festival and the New York Indian Film Festival.
Teaspoon features actors Sree Swara, who got recognition in “Singham Returns”, and Bomie Dotiwala who has featured in movies like “Black”and “Gandhi, My Father”.
The director says that she is “lucky to have such powerful actors and such a fantastic talented crew who helped bring my story and vision to life.”
“I am thankful to all the Festivals for the selection, and for the awards bestowed on me,” she added.
