Teenage girl gangraped by 6 men including 2 migrant workers housed at quarantine facility in Bihar

Patna (Times Now): Despite strict legal provisional, it seems there’s no lockdown on crimes against women. Two migrant workers, who were housed at a quarantine facility, along with four other men, allegedly gangraped an 18-year-old girl in Rohtas district of Bihar on Wednesday night.

Police inaction due to political pressure
The incident took place within the territorial jurisdiction of Dawath Police Station. Owing to political pressure, the police allegedly tried to suppress the matter. But two accused were arrested after the hue and cry by the survivor’s family over police inaction.

On Thursday, an offence was registered against the six accused identified as Vijay Yadav (20), Suresh Yadav (22), Mukesh Yadav (21), Chanchal Yadav (22), Amit Paswan (18), and Chulli Paswan (18). On Friday, the affected girl was sent to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for conducting a medical examination.

While speaking to The Times of India, Rohtas Superintendent of Police Satyaveer Singh said that out of the six accused, Chanchal and Suresh have been arrested. The two were staying at the quarantine centre. They dialled the other four accused and called them from the village.

Girl was out to relieve herself
Singh added that the incident took place outside the quarantine facility at around 9:30 pm. The affected girl had gone to a farming field for relieving herself as there is no toilet at her house. The two migrant workers scaled up the boundary of the quarantine centre and caught hold of the girl in the field. Then, they also called the other four to the location for committing the heinous crime.

In the ancient times such people were called Rakshasas and it divine to kill those. In the current time, it takes several years and billions of rupees expenditure for the government to punish them and send them to gallows. Instead of giving a death sentence or jailing them for life, chemical castration should be made legal. Death sentence does not seem to be a great deterrent but castration with name publicized will be far more effective., I think.
