‘Tembere’ and ‘Poppa’ Mesmerizes Audience at Tulu Parba 2017
Kuwait: Tulu Parba 2017, organised by Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK) successfully mesmerized a house full audience with the highlights of the evening “Tembere” and “Poppa” on Friday, 27th October 2017 from 3:30 pm at the American International School, Kuwait.
The audiences were welcomed by comperes of the evening Melwin Mascarehnas and Bhavishya Shetty followed by the Kuwait and Indian National anthem. The dazzling evening commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Management and Advisory Committee members, Leeladhara Shetty Kaup and Anup Singh from the Indian Embassy. It was followed by the souvenir release and a classical welcome dance by kids.
The charismatic president, Wilson D’Souza in his address to the gathering welcomed all guests, sponsors and members. He gave a brief report on the achievements and activities of the association during the year including, Family Picnic, Rasamanjari, Blood Donation camp, Free Medical checkup camp and the welfare activities and financial support extended to various organizations and individuals during the year. He also thanked all the sponsors, well-wishers, committee members and volunteers for their support and contribution towards the success of all the activities of the association.
As a token of respect and appreciation of his dedicated social work, Vishu Shetty Ambalpady was honoured on the occasion. TKK committee members Vishweshwar Karkal, Vanitha Fernandes and Suresh Shyam Rao were honoured for their outstanding dedication towards the association. Further, the sponsors of the event were also honoured with a bouquet and memento as a token of gratitude for their support to Tulu Koota Kuwait. Dr Preeti Shetty anchored the felicitation programme.
‘Tulunada Tembere’ a unique cultural show, as promised, turned out to be a show that displayed the rich cultural heritage of Tulu Nadu to fill every Tuluva with pride. This magnificent show conceptualized and directed by Suresh Salian, written by Tharendra P Shettigar, Recording and Editing done by Jagadeeshwara Shanubogue U, voice given by Tharendra P Shettigar and Shalini Vijay was presented by more than 100 TKK members. It showcased more than 33 different amalgamations of scenes, cultures, occupation and historical legends. Some of them included harvest scenes, historical brave warriors, different dance forms, religious performances, wedding ceremonies of different religions etc. The senior members of committee extended their full support in coordination at the stage and during the rehearsals. Suresh Salian and Tharendra P Shettigar were honoured on the occasion in appreciation of their contribution.
The main attraction of the day remained the Tulu drama ‘Poppa’ by the ‘Ranga Taranga’ group led by Samaj Ratna, Leeladhar Shetty from Kaup. A team of 15 well-known artistes including Kusalda Birse Sandeep Shetty, Manibettu and Telikeda Arasae Prassana Shetty, Bailore presented the super hit drama directed by Sharath Uchila and written by Shyam Kumar Chitrapura. The audience went into roars of laughter and sat through the end of the drama enjoying every bit of the show. Tulu Koota felicitated all the artistes with a memento.
The programme was well coordinated by the Cultural Secretary, Ronald D’Souza, while Vote of Thanks was delivered by the General Secretary, Jagadeeshwara Shanubhogue U. The sound and lightings were provided by Waves Events & Rentals Kuwait, photography was done by Alban, makeup done by Ajay Ghosh & Team, slides by Ramesh Bhandary & Team and souvenir artwork designed by Manoj Kumar. The audience was also given snack boxes at the end of the event.
