Tenth Edition of TCS World 10K at Bengaluru
Mangaluru: Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, President, Dakshina Kannada Athletics Association along with Hon’ble Home Minister, Dr. G. Parameshwara, former Minister for Youth services & Sports, Abayachandra Jain, Nagaraj Ijari, Vice President & Global Head, Sathishchandra, Vice President of Tata Consultancy Services, other dignitaries gathered for the Launch of the 10th edition of the TCS World 10K at Bengaluru on the 21st of May, 2017.
The event flagged off from the Kanteerava Stadium with Procam International in association with the Government Authorities hosting the tenth edition of the TCS World 10K. The Open 10K witnessed more than 13,700 registered runners.
The 2017 Event Ambassador, Stephanie Louise Rice, OAM (born 17 June 1988) is an Australian former competitive swimmer. She won three gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia on 26 January 2009. On June 17, 1988, Rice was born in Brisbane to Raelene Clark and Warren Rice. Rice attended Clayfield College in her high school years in Brisbane, Queensland. In September 2010, Rice came under fire when she made a homophobic comment on relating to a Rugby Union match in which the Australian Wallabies defeated the South African Springboks. In 2013, Rice won season 3 of The Celebrity Apprentice Australia.
