Testing for Covid-19 starts at Kasturba Hospital Manipal
Manipal: Dr Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal has announced that the testing for COVID-19 at Kasturba hospital has started from May 19.
In a press release, Dr Avinash has stated that Kasturba Medical College and Hospital has received a nod from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to conduct tests of the samples of COVID-19. This is the first Hospital (Government or Private) in Udupi district to get the ICMR approval for COVID-19.
Dr Avinash said that the approval of the new testing facility would help in getting quick reports of COVID-19 tests, as it will cater to samples collected from Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts. This will also ease the pressure on government testing centre at Mangalore and Shivamogga. The laboratory will function round the clock.
Aadhar number is compulsory for all the patients who come to the Hospital. Mask is mandatory for all, and only one attendee is allowed along with the patient.
