?Look in those eyes… Listen to that dear voice… Notice the feeling of even a single touch that is bestowed upon you by that gentle hand! Make much of it while yet you have that most precious of all gifts. Read the unfathomable love of those eyes; the anxiety of that tone and look, however slight is your pain. In after life you may have friends, fonds, dears, but never will you have again the inexpressible love & gentleness lavished upon you which none but a mother bestows.? It seems that we all either have yet to learn all that our mother does, or we regret not knowing it sooner. Sometimes the love of a mother is so natural and dependable that we lose the sense to be truly thankful for it.
Images of Mother
4 Years of Age- My Mommy can do anything!
8 Years of Age- My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 Years of Age- My Mother doesn’t really know quite everything.
14 Years of Age- Naturally, Mother doesn’t know that, either.
16 Years of Age- Mother? She’s hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 Years of Age- That old woman? She’s way out of date!
25 Years of Age- Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 Years of Age- Before we decide, let’s get Mom’s opinion.
45 Years of Age- Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 Years of Age- Wish I could talk it over with Mom.
And even though throughout our years of growing we change our minds and moods towards her, our mother is always there shaking her head and welcoming us all back home. ?A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.?
While the truth is that none of us can do enough to thank our mothers, we should try to give back that exact same love that she has given to us. The greatest gift a mother can receive is the undying love of her true sweethearts.
But to all mothers who feel that this gratitude may never come, you must remember that ?a man loves his sweetheart the most; his wife the best, but his mother the longest.? The bond between children and their mother can truly never be broken.
Happy Mother?s Day!
