Election Manifesto Releasing programme by Rahul Gandhi – Live from T M A Pai Hall
Mangaluru: The ‘Karnataka Manifesto 2018- 2023’ releasing programme was held at the TMA Pai hall here on April 27.
The programme began with an invocation. Former CM of Karnataka Veerappa Moily welcomed the gathering.
Rahul further said, “Veerappa Moily spent hours and hours to prepare this manifesto by visiting every district and every block of the region and I would like to thank him for his efforts in delivering this. We have asked the people what they want in the Manifesto. But you will see that the BJP manifesto will be prepared by three or four leaders. Corruption will be hidden in the manifesto. It will include the ideas of the Reddy brothers it will not be the manifesto of Karnataka but that of the RSS and will contain what they think is good for Karnataka. RSS does not respect the culture of Karnataka. They do not respect the ideals of Basavanna. They go to London and garland the statue of Basavanna but they do not have respect. The prime minister promised to credit Rs 15 lakh to the account of each citizen. The PM guaranteed corruption-free government in India but we see scam after scam”.
Rahul Gandhi also said, “Mr Narendra Modi and BJP does not stand up for what they say and that is the truth and the truth speaks very loudly which I do not need to reveal. For me the last three months have been extremely a lightening experience. I have travelled every single district and I must thank you for your great love and affection towards me. Karnataka has built a competitive silicon valley and shows the country that this is the way to go forward. Karnataka respects everybody and gives the message to the country. I would like to thank you, the people of Karnataka with all my heart for your confidence, your dignity and your humility shows the country the path forward. I would like to thank every single citizen of this state and every single congress worker who is standing together and taking the message of love and affection the Congress party believes in the people of this state. This state will not have future if every single community, every single region, every single district is not respected and I am proud to say that this manifesto contains the voice of every single person of Karnataka.”
KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar said, “During every elections, we release the manifesto. For the last elections, we had released the manifesto and assured to fulfill the promises. We also assured of giving good governance. We have kept our promises and fulfilled all of them. Once again we are approaching the people of Karnataka. It is your voice and whatever is in your mind, we have prepared the manifesto according to your requirements. Veerappa Moily has visited every district and met the people, farmers and industrialists and prepared the manifesto. In the manifesto, we have given priority to agriculture, shelter, health, education, Job creation and industries. I would like to thank Rahulji for releasing the manifesto as it is the first time the AICC president has released the Karnataka manifesto. We are moved by your words. Karnataka is a very progressive state from the beginning. Our forefathers have laid a foundation for the path of progress and we have followed it. Today we are a very progressive state in the country. It is true that in many areas we are able to provide guidance to different states and different departments. But definitely, as we progress more we need to take harder steps for the future of this country. We need to take the younger generation along with us. There is a lot of aspiration from the younger generation of this country who believe in you. I am sure you will give the leadership to the younger generations. We lakhs and lakhs of congressmen will definitely work with you sir, I promise you. We need to show to the opposition what is the meaning of the Manifesto”.
CM Siddaramaiah also spoke on the occasion. Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Venugopal, Vishnunath, D K Shivakumar, Harish Kumar and others were also present.
