Theft of Rs 1.20 Lakh while Family Attended Religious Discourse
Puttur: Miscreants broke open the rear door of a house belonging to Avvamma in Mundatadka in Savanoor on Thursday night.
She and other family members had gone to a mosque in Savanoor to attend a religious discourse programme.
When they returned around 1:00 am on Friday, they found that the thieves had attempted to break the front door but failed. Then they broke into the rear door. A wardrobe was also found broken open and valuables worth Rs 1.20 lakh were missing.
The stolen items include two rings of a sovereign each, a chain of five sovereign and an expensive watch.
Avvamma’s son, Abdul Ghafoor, has filed a complaint in this regard at the Kadaba police station.
