There will be a Second Fight for Freedom to protect Cows – Murali during BD and VHP protest

Mangaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal in association with Durga Vahini staged a protest at Vamanjoor here on July 26.

The protest was flagged off from Sri Rama Bhajana Mandir Moodshedde after reciting the Hanuman Chalisa.

The protesters marched in a procession from Sri Rama Bhajana Mandir Moodshedde and culminated at Vamanjoor. The protesters shouted slogans against the Cow traffickers and the state government.

Addressing the protesters Bajrang Dal leader Muralikrishna Hamsathadka said, “We are here to pledge to protect the cows. India is the only country for Hindus and we are pleading to protect the cows which we worship as mother. We have organized this protest to demand the district administration and the police department to protect the cows. We call the cow as our mother but the cow traffickers brutally slaughter them. During the night, cow traffickers come with machetes and take away the cows from the cowsheds. When Bajrang Dal activists assist in catching the cow traffickers, our activists are being booked under 307 and 395 sections. We have no problem with that, but why don’t the police book those involved in cow trafficking under the same section?” he questioned.

Muralikrishna further said, “If the police cannot book the cow traffickers, the Hindu society will pledge to get women to hold machetes and protect the cows. The Hindu Society has protested against the slaughtering and trafficking of cows. Now we need to prepare ourselves to protect the cows. If anyone thinks that we are just protesting, they are wrong. The district administration should advise them and stop the trafficking of cows. If cow trafficking continues in DK and the blood of cows shed, we will not be responsible if there is any bloodshed in the district. The days are nearing, if the same situation continues, there is no doubt that we will have to start the second fight for freedom, for the freedom of cows. The mother breastfeeds her child for two years but the cow gives us milk until its last breath and its urine can cure cancer. When Prasanth Poojary died for protecting the cows, his family did not get any compensation. But the cow trafficker Kabeer’s family was given compensation”.

Addressing the protesters Bajrang Dal leader K R Sunil said, “In Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district, cow trafficking and slaughtering is rampant and we need to curb it. It is our duty to pledge to protect the cows. When we consider cow as mother we need to protect it. The police department thinks that by organizing the protest rally we will incite communal violence, but they fail to understand that the cow traffickers have barged into some of the houses with machetes and take away the cows. Bajrang Dal is ready for any sacrifice to protect the cows.”

District President of Bajrang Dal Sharan Pumpwell said, “We have given a special place for the cows. In the entire world cows are considered as animals, but in India, we consider cow as mother. Trafficking of cows is rampant in DK, we have requested the district administration and also the police department to take action against it. But they have not taken any action against the cow traffickers and the slaughtering of cows. When the VHP leader Jagadish Shenava initiated the “Gau Raksha Dal”, SDPI leader approached the police commissioner to take action against Jagadish Shenava as “Gau Raksha Dal” would incite communal violence. If the SDPI is worried of violence, let them advise the cow traffickers to stop stealing the cows from cowsheds and slaughtering them. In Muslim countries if anyone steals, the punishment is severe, their hand is chopped off. If Islam says that stealing is a crime, let them adopt the same law in India and not approach the police to take action against Jagadish Shenava.”

Sharan further said, “Our Bhagavadgeetha taught us to love everyone equally but at the same time if anyone hurts our Dharma, it has also taught us to take action. If we want peace in the society, the Jihadis should be advised by the Muslim leaders not to involve in the slaughter and trafficking of cows. We request the Police commissioner and DC to close down the illegal slaughterhouses in Bunder since there are 3000 beef stalls in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. From where does the beef come for all the 3000 stalls? The District administration should answer our questions. We hereby request the concerned authorities to form a special police team to deal with cow trafficking and slaughtering issue. Set up check posts at all the entry points from other parts of the district and state to Mangaluru. Compensate those who have lost their cows. Illegal beef stalls should be closed and action should be taken against them. The government should start Gau Shalas in every Gram Panchayat level and provide funds to protect the cows.”

President of Durgha Vahini Vidya Mallya also spoke on the occasion. Gopal Kuthar, Bhujang Kulal, Praveen Kuthar, Vishnu Kamath and others were also present.
