Thief Caught in Attempt to Sell Stolen TV, Gold
Udupi: When town station’s assistant sub-inspector (crime) Kalpana and team were on a beat near the city bus stand of June 27, they spotted a man in suspect circumstances.
He was identified as Shiva (28) from Mundgod in Uttar Kannada district. A TV was found concealed in a bag of rice he had with him. He was trying to sell it off to anyone interested at an very underquoted price.
He was interrogated and a gold bracelet and two gold rings were found hidden in his handkerchief. The case was linked to a theft that took place in Mulki earlier this week. He confessed to having stolen the goods from a rented house in Mulki with the help of his companion Basavaraj.
The police have registered a case.
