Thieves burgle Sri Mahathobhara Mahalingeshwara Temple in Basrur
Kundapur: The Thieves broke into Sri Mahathobhara Mahalingeshwara Temple at Basrur near Kundapur on Sunday late night and decamp away with silver items worth Rs 2 lakhs.
According to the police, burglars entered the Temple from the front door and broke the lock of the Garbhagudi between 12 night to 1:00 am. They took away two idols worth Rs 2 lakhs. Before breaking the main door, thieves locked the door of the priest’s room from outside.
Kundapur Rural PSI Sridhar Naik, ASP Kumarchandra, DySP Dinesh Kumar, CPI Manjappa and other police officials visited the Spot. Fingerprint experts and the Canine squad visited the spot for investigation and collected the necessary information.
A case has been registered in the Kundapur Rural Police Station.
