Those who killed Gandhi, responsible for Gauri Lankesh Murder – G Rajshekar
Udupi: “Those who had killed Mahatma Gandhi, the same people had killed Narendra Dabholkar, Govinda Pansare, M M Kulbargi and Gauri Lankesh. It is clear that the killers are deeply rooted in the Sangh Parivar and they are only responsible for the murder of Gauri Lankesh,” said thinker and Udupi district Komu Souhardha Vedike president G Rajshekar.
He was speaking during a protest in memory of Gauri Lankesh organised by the Komu Souhardha Vedike Udupi district at the War Memorial at Ajjarkad on September 8.
Addressing the protesters Rajshekar said, “All these murders have taken place according to the Savarkar supported RSS ideology. The same theory is responsible for the assassination of thousands of innocent Muslims in the country. Thousands of people were killed during the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement, Advani Rath Yatra, Babri Masjid Dialogue, Mumbai riots, Gujarat riots and Kandhamal. Hindutva ideology in the country has led to the killing of thousands of innocent people including intellectuals in the country. Everyone should condemn the murder of intellectuals and innocent people,” he said.
Dalit leader Sundar Master said, “The union government has failed to work under the Constitution. The Union government is trying to control those who speak against the government. No one can take away the freedom of expression in this county which has been given in the constitution,” he said.
Mumbai activist Sandesh Bhandary said, “Today the Constitution is in danger and everyone should come forward to fight against Hindutva terrorism”.
Priest Fr William Martis, Idris Hoide of Jamaat-e-Islam Hind, actor from Pune Alok Rajwade, lecturer Prof Hayavadan Moodasagri, writer Samwortha Sahil, Thinker Prof Fanaraj also spoke on the occasion.
