Those who spread Corona Jihad in Country should be given Life sentence – Shobha Karandlaje
Udupi: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje has alleged that people, who took part in the religious gathering at Tablighi Jamaat headquarters in Nizamuddin, New Delhi, were spreading Covid-19 across the country. The authorities should trace people who have failed to furnish details. They should be given life sentence.
Speaking to media persons in Udupi on Sunday, April 5 Shobha said, “A few of those who took part in the gathering are missing. They might be involved in ‘Corona Jihad’. People who participated in Tablighi religious gathering should furnish their details voluntarily to the police and get themselves examined. Also, they should remain in quarantine. The authorities should trace those who have failed to furnish the details. They should be given life sentence,” Shobha urged the government.
Shobha further said, “When they fail to adhere to the law of the land, I feel there is a hidden agenda behind it. There is a need to show them the power of the law so that everyone abides by it in the future”.
Shobha also alleged, “When Asha workers went to collect details about a woman, who had tested positive to Covid-19, in Sadiq Layout, Bengaluru, they were assaulted. It is proved that members of one community are not cooperating with the government to contain the spread of coronavirus”.
Commenting over former minister U T Khader’s statement against ‘Corona Jihad’ Shobha said, “I am not doing any politics in the Corona matter but exposing the mentality of the people who participated in Tablighi Jamaat headquarters in Nizamuddin. They are directly responsible to spread coronavirus across the country,” she said.
Replying about opening the Karnataka border to Kerala people Shobha said, “Kerala state has become the Red zone for COVID-19 and we cannot tolerate the spreading of coronavirus to our state from Kerala. We can’t let this pandemic spread to Dakshina Kannada. If the people of Kerala want our support we are always ready. Yesterday we have sent vegetables to Kerala we are ready to support them in providing emergency services. The only effective remedy for COVID-19 is social distancing. That is why the borders are closed”.
